Something I noticed a while back, but never got around to bringing up: When I view a thread on my laptop at the bottom of the page above "Who's Online?" there is a little button that says "Return to '[Board Name].'" When I view a thread on my phone, this little button is not ther...

Small Party Adventure Modules

With the exception of a short lived home brew campaign I don't think I've run a game for more than 3 people in Years . My group of prospective players is rather large, but with constantly changing schedules, inconveniently large distances, transportation issues, and unreliable internet connections, ...

Re: Basic Scifi Role-Playing Game

I know you want this to be uniquely Basic, and I’m sure anything you do will have your own flair, but I’d like to recommend some inspirational reading. You got me seriously excited, about this, and I hope these help with your block. Labyrinth Lord’s creators made “Ape’s Victorious,” and “Mutant Futu...

Re: BFRPG v.s. Well, all the rest

I would say the answer is “yes, he has previous experience.” BRRPG and modern games differ in many details and minor variations, but the basic framework of - GM describes a scene - Players state their actions - GM decides and describes results - repeat is no different. There might be some culture sh...

Re: Probably been asked before about basic scifi rpg

Personally I love SWN, and I would love to see a Basic Sci-Fi RPG, but as Solo said, there aren’t really any default sci-fi settings. In fantasy it’s pretty easy to modify the default by removing things (yes things get added and changed, but people are more likely to accept elves, dwarves, hobbits, ...

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Should the Quizmaster really attack after 1d4-1 rounds? What if a 1 is rolled? They just ask the question and immediately start blowing people’s minds out? :|

Re: Heist

I have never run a heist, but I have played in a heist... as a criminal, so I can't help you with the staying out of trouble thing, but the above suggestions sound good. As Sean said, the key to a heist is stealth. However I will say that it doesn't have to be acrobatic sneaking through the shadows....

I was actually about to ask if you did any art for the game. The resemblance is uncanny, but original!

Re: Reaction Rolls

I don't use them much if I already have the NPC written down. If the party starts talking to passersby, or the nameless bartender/guard/shopkeep, they get a roll on first contact, usually with a +1 modified by CHA and reputation, just so no one immediately pulls a knife or anything just because some...

Re: PCMatic / MapMatic +2 Help

Is there a way to use MapMatic without an internet connection? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you can install MapMatic or MapMatic +1, but I could be imagining things.
