Re: Combat Options Supplement

There is no official ruling when it comes to supplements. They are all individually created by the users on this site. You can get the "intention" of the person who wrote the supplement, but that doesn't make it official. That's why I put the word official in "scare quotes". Solomoriah, I see your ...

Re: Combat Options Supplement

Yes, I was wondering whether giving fighters specialization but denying it to paladins would be too big a disincentive to play a paladin - they already require a lot more XP to advance, after all. The ranger does seem more problematic, as his XP increase is much smaller. Of course I realize that it ...

Re: Combat Options Supplement

Its pretty straight forward in the supplement. weapons specialization specifically states that it is for fighters. Two-weapon combat, defensive fighting, and crits and fumbles are for everyone, including monsters and NPCs. Now just like everything else, a DM can pick and choose what they want to us...

Re: Combat Options Supplement

One more question.

Do you guys give weapon specializations to fighters only, or to all optional classes in the fighter category (paladins, rangers, etc.)?

Thanks!

Ok, I was reading it that way too, but wanted to confirm. Thanks!

Re: Combat Options Supplement

Is the intention of this supplement that any class can use two-weapon fighting (the text just says "a character"), or is it supposed to be an option for fighters only?

Re: Sleep spell no limit on HD affected?

Well, by "sympathetic" to the magic user's weakness I was referring to your earlier point that BF MUs need a more powerful Sleep spell due to their inferiority to modern MUs; my point was that since I buff the BF MU a bit, that might work to (at least partially) close the power gap between old-schoo...

Re: Sleep spell no limit on HD affected?

Well, I definitely don't want to castrate anybody. Sorry, I meant "radius". So the d20/3.x version is 10' radius, BF 30'. You make a good point about the relative strengths of first level magic users in modern games as opposed to BFRPG. I hadn't considered that. I am, however, using a few optional r...

Re: Sleep spell no limit on HD affected?

I checked the d20 srd, and apparently third edition sleep spells do allow a saving throw to negate the effect. So that, at least, it has it common with the BF version of sleep. It also has a ten foot radius AoE while BF's has a thirty foot radius. So in review: BF Sleep: no HD limit, Save negates, a...

Re: Converting from 1E - want to play ToEE in BFRPG

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I just picked up ToEE and would like to try using it for my current BF campaign.

I see the monster movement in ToEE is given in inches. Anyone have any ideas how best to convert that to BF's system? Thanks!
