Re: Basic Fighting Animals! (Test)

Why? Because with the 40 years of D&D gaming under our belts, we haven't run across these critters yet! It doesn't have to be anything big, but even the old basic sets gave us a little bit of flavor for demi-humans. Elves came from the forest, dwarves dig extensive underground caves and mines... It ...

Re: Basic Fighting Animals! (Test)

For the record, I think doing a campaign setting with a few rules additions, races, and monsters is a smarter move than doing a whole system. Not saying you need to abandon what you've been working on, but if you can flesh this out, even with assistance from another writer, you could get your charac...

Re: Thieves Questions

When it comes to thief sub-class ideas, I think I am more partial to making the Thief itself more modular where one can forgo a certain skill in order to take on another (a little like the Expert angle of some of the newer games/editions). Want an Assassin, then remove Climb, Pick Pockets, etc. in ...

Re: Thieves Questions

Re-reading the thieves descriptions (so a can make an assassin sub-class) Have you checked the existing assassin supplement? 2-They don't get the Decipher Language nor the Read Scroll abilities? Actually caught me off guard, I guess I've referenced the Rules Cyclopedia so much before starting off o...

Re: Doctor Who is going to land in my next adventure

http://www.somegif.com/view/Tom-Baker-Creepy-Smile-gif :D Creepy indeed! The Infinite Tower is a lot of fun, it was a perfect "bigger on the inside" kind of adventure, that has both teleportation elements and even a time travel trap built in. It's somewhat repetitive, but also a bit of a puzzle. I ...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition

Hit Dice is always kind of a wonky concept for the newcomers. I don't have a specific comment, just voicing my support. If we didn't have a 40 year old game I would say "Why don't we just call the monsters by level?" because that would be more universal when comparing monsters to PC's.

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition

CHARACTER CREATION AND SAVING THROWS OK, I remember mentioning to someone that a lot of my feedback is going to be a very noob perspective. I wanted to address something minor that is probably missed by people accustomed to playing the game, and that is Saving Throws. I knew what they were from prev...

Re: RPG books to give away

If I remember right you were hooking up Library Lass good for her lack of dead tree flesh, so I am not sure on what's left and up for grabs? I'll definitely chip in for shipping and take a BFRPG though, PM coming your way now.

Re: Basic Fantasy Creature List Spreadsheet by Mike Roop

I was stocking a dungeon, and the spreadsheet came in great. I wanted to sort the spreadsheet by hit dice, but the nature of the cell text did not allow this. Instead, and very nearly accurate, I just auto sorted by XP. Very nice work. I have a suggestion for an additional column, a general creature...
