Re: Spell Cards Discussion

Don't take this personally, but XML sucks. I'd use JSON myself, just for the ease of parsing. Agree, and JSON is more efficient, but XML is so dang readable, even by newbies, that I thought I'd try that format. As to DB choices... I'd strongly recommend SQLite3. It's super portable and compatible w...

Re: King of the Autumn's Harvest

Hey, I'm working on more detailed layout of Autumnpeak. Let me work on curating the current map and my thought around it for you tonight. Look for it on here late tonight or early tomorrow. Its critical to have a more fleshed out map before setting up any 'side adventures'. Agree totally. I've roll...

Re: Spell Cards Discussion

Spell Data Babarock, related to this statement from you... I would love to carry forward what you've done here, but I don't know what to do with the XML coding. Let me ask you this: what databse format were you thinking of when you made this statement: ...build up a spell card dB... If you'll let m...

Re: King of the Autumn's Harvest

now that were talking about packaging 4 adventures into one module (if indeed, that is what were talking about). I believe it is! I really love the nonlinear 'sandbox' approach to get the players warmed up to Autumnpeak and rack up some 'deserved' EXP. Obviously, we need to allow for beginning play...

Re: Amazon Echo Skill

I'd love to see some things that are a little more generic. Here are my use cases (all from the GM perspective): I need to make a big roll that may or may not kill a character, and I want no question of the impartiality of the role... Roll D20! A no-name NPC takes on a life of his or her own, and I ...

Re: Spell Cards Discussion

Good afternoon, all! Guyon, in response to two questions from you (quoted below): Wording on the cards are close to the edge. Would a very slight border help? Will these cards include extra classes? I had the impression from your first post that the Spell Cards project was yours. My intent was only ...

Re: King of the Autumn's Harvest

I love it! King of Autumn Harvest it is. "King of Autumn 's Harvest" I like the 'genuine melee combat' idea for the Circle of Doom. I'm working on a revision, reconciling my version with yours. Talk about 'Old School"! Check out this cover I just made: I love this cover. Two small points: Title: Ei...

Being from Forks, you may enjoy Dusk by the guys over at Penny Arcade.

Back in my 4E days, I ran Dusk more than any other adventure as a fun way to introduce newbies to role-playing. And it has fairly minimal combat, so it should convert to BFRPG on the fly rather easily...
