Re: New Project: Iron Falcon

Trouble is all the material out there is written for B/X and 1e. I wonder if there are easy ways to convert B/X modules to OD&D. You should be able to convert on the fly adventures written for most of the Old School games, and certainly for BFRPG (just invert the AC). Also converting the HD from B/...

Re: New Project: Iron Falcon

This is neat. Definitely checking it out. They'll always be that soft spot I have for the simplicity of OD&D: the way it handles hit dice and very few stat bonuses. Trouble is all the material out there is written for B/X and 1e. I wonder if there are easy ways to convert B/X modules to OD&D. Solo, ...

Same one I use. I was gonna mention it.

In my case, I usually just pass around smaller map handouts.

Re: I'll be running BFRPG at our local Gameday in March

Regarding roll under checks, saves do improve as levels advance. Alternatively, there's the roll over checks in the optional section of BFRPG which also increase with level. Otherwise, having the saves pre-calculated on character sheets is about as good as that gets I think. Good luck.

Re: I'll be running BFRPG at our local Gameday in March

Good stuff.

I was recently invited to a small group in L.A. using BFRPG (in person) and I've been using it on roll20 for over a year, along with another GM on roll20 who is using it as well.

Enjoy.

Re: More attacks per round as the character advances in levels?

Funny you bring this up, I was just thinking about it this week in terms of 1e and 2e module compatibility. As dimirag pointed out, ad&d games give fighters extra attacks as they level up. Or at a minimum, the weapon specialization from Combat Options. The extra attack per fighter level vs 1 HD mons...

Re: RPG books to give away

Do the Mentzer "GM books" include the Mentzer Companion Sets or just Expert? EDIT: Interested in the Menzter set and companion books.

Re: Mass Combat Rules in BFRPG

The only bit I have to add is that the Rules Cyclopedia has some guidelines for mass combat in Chapter 9 (War Machine) for B/X (BECMI.) Though that are a bit more complicated. It kind of comes down to whatever works best for as you can simplify to taste. I played in a classic D&D game once where the...
