Re: How easily do 3rd/5th edition D&D modules convert to BFRPG?

Nearly impossible to me. From 3rd/5th best bet would be to sub the monsters out with BFRPG equivalent. Although there is the monster conversion guide on the download page, it's more gm homework than I would care for personally. EDIT: Having said that, the conversion guide is probably good for monste...

Re: Some Conversion Questions

The thing is, when referring to a module, it is much more convenient to convert stats on-the-fly then to try to find and replace. I'm not sure if it's still available for download but Solo's "Oldschool Playbook" has a good section on on-the-fly conversion between OSRIC and BFRPG. When I run B/X modu...

Re: Five Things I Like About Basic Fantasy

1. streamlined (ascending armor class; simple monster stats)
2. modular (can hook in whatever supplements one wishes)
3. easy to legally pass the pdf around the internet
4. great community
5. open (to contributions)

Re: Resting in dungeons

Non-magical healing is slow. Generally, I reduce the rate of monster encounters when the players hole up in a room and spike the door shut. Don't think you're doing it wrong if you enter a dungeon, get beat up in your first fight, and go right back to town in time for lunch. Yep, this is how I hand...

The Lost City is great fun. We made it through Zargon, but I was pretty generous back in those days.

I'm going to root Solo on with this point.

Compared to some other OD&D clones, which are more wordy, this is showing to be quite concise.

Re: New Project: Iron Falcon

As I mentioned, I'm in favor of making it fit nicely with BFRPG and work with the standard BFRPG adventure format. No complaint here.

Re: New Project: Iron Falcon

Solo, by the way, not sure, but Original D&D on proboards may still be on anti-spam lock down.

See this

PS. Hope the OD&D folks on proboards don't mind me spreading the word.

Re: New Project: Iron Falcon

You should be able to convert on the fly adventures written for most of the Old School games, and certainly for BFRPG (just invert the AC). Also converting the HD from B/X style to OD&D style and the attack tables, and maybe differences in XP requirement -- I'd have to go back and compare. Probably...
