Re: Handy Dandy Spell Look up by Level!

I have taken the spreadsheet from WandererExiled and created a pdf with the cards formatted. Each page has 9 per page. There is 12 pages total with 105 cards. Would that be of interest to anyone? Ja wohl! That would very much be of interest. I was contemplating such an undertaking a few weeks ago a...

Re: Adding Comedy to Your Game

Thanks for sharing. I particularly enjoyed the alliteration story. I also appreciated your injunction to use comedy judiciously. I'm afraid find that most of my games end up with a good dash of player generated comedy on their own - though usually of the slapstick variety. The following meme seems t...

Re: What are you listening to/watching/reading?

Im very grateful that ebooks make it possible to have a large library in a small space Ditto. While I do still love and even prefer the experience of holding a hard copy book, the convenience of having a whole library on a single device cannot be denied. I'm usually reading five or so books simulta...

Re: Going out to sea....

Are there any other "official" swimming/drowning rules for old D&D? I'm not certain about the original brown books, but in B/X, yes, there are. The first quote you used is indeed from the 1E AD&D DM Guide (pp 55 & 56). The first thing I asked myself was if the BFRPG core rules addressed the matter....

Re: What are you listening to/watching/reading?

Reading: Just finished Freedom's Challenge, book 4 in Anne McCaffrey's Freedom Series. I came to Basic D&D in the mid '80s not having read much fantasy. It was the Inspirational Reading section of the AD&D DM's Guide that got me started. Listening: The ringing in my right ear due to an ear infectio...

Re: Basic Fantasy Project Submission Guidelines

What font is used for many of the adventure titles? It doesn't seem to be referenced in this post and I couldn't find it in any other. If the question is already addressed, feel free to simply point me to the related post.

Re: Character Sheet

I too really like the simplicity and free hand style of this sheet. As you observed, the clean, exact box/border lines don't exactly match the overall style of the sheet. I'm very interested to see what solution you come up with.
