New Class - Bandit

Thanks for the suggestions and feedback. I was unaware of the Assassin's Waylay. So I decided to keep the Waylay skill as is with the assassin class. I focused on the unarmed combat skill as the defining skill for the Bandit and hopefully simplified it to be more balanced. I reworked the races avail...

Re: BFRPG users by State and Country

Hyway,

I am not sure. It is possible. I told them about the Basic Fantasy website. We may be dropping our meetup.com account for an actual website. In fact, I have already bought a domain and am working on a website.

Re: Ability Score Progression

One of the difference between old school and new school is the difference between Batman and Superman. Batman doesn't get stronger or smarter, he just gets better toys and more experience. An old school player would never be able to kill a dragon unarmed and unarmored. they would need all their too...

Using Treasure For Experience

There are guidelines for using treasure to add experience points. I was wondering if any of you use this? and how do you use it? I am thinking about requiring a cost in gold before a PC can level up. The rule book uses the suggestion that this cost is a cost for training. I am just unsure of how muc...

Re: Are Magic-Users Too Weak?

Bob, Okay, I was referring to the class's function. A fighter swinging a sword, a ranger shooting a bow, likewise a MU should be able to cast a few more spells. I was not specifically saying the MU must be able to deal out damage to be useful. My intent was to give an example of other classes fulfil...

Re: Are Magic-Users Too Weak?

Bob the crank, I am not advocating one-sided gaming or narrow-minded thinking. It is an exaggeration to hype what I said to mean that I believe MUs need to be all-powerful. If you take an honest look at what I was suggesting and actually played it out - you might understand that the bonus to # of sp...

Re: New Class - Friar

Hey Cranky Old Bob! :) I am surprised nobody has commented on your Friar Class. Very well done and with great understanding of the "Friar life". I do like this new class, it offers a new way to role-play without a doubt. The Friar forces a backwards kind of thinking that I would assume many would ha...
