Re: Anyone using the mRPG mobile app for play-by-chat?

I've looked the app over and while it shows promise, it is slightly more work than I'm able to commit to in an effort to build a campaign on. I have one mostly built on my discord server so that is what I will probably be sticking with.

Re: New to Basic Fantasy

I've promoted BFRPG multiple times in various threads on Reddit when people ask about what system would be good to start in. I think I know which thread is mentioned.

Re: Question on monsters damage

The point I was trying to make is that intelligent monsters will more than likely be careful in how they attack and who they attack. Animal or unintelligent monsters will tend to focus all their attacks on their current opponent or the current one in front of them. This is not always the case but th...

Re: New to Basic Fantasy

Another thing to remember is that there is not a rule for everything so as a GM you might be needed to make a ruling (this is different from a rule) or judgement call. Take the all time favorite of someone that is not a thief that wants to sneak up on someone. Well thieves have the move silently ski...

Re: New to Basic Fantasy

First thing is to remember that BFRPG and other OSR systems are more lethal than 5e. Stress to your players that running away from an encounter or avoiding the encounter is a totally valid action to do. If they do choose to go into combat, they need to be sure to weight the odds to their favor such ...

Combat Options does have Two Weapon Combat. I loathe the words "dual wield."
I just woke up shortly before seeing the post and drew a blank on the actual title of the section.

Re: Here we go, 1st session with Morgansfort...any advice?

good call and I didnt do it but I know we've already made up a couple new rules ( dual wield, starting stats, etc ) that I know I've forgotten :( I'll make sure to note them next time. Take a look at the various supplements to either find a rule or get an idea of what to aim for. I believe the comb...

Re: Question on monsters damage

Most monsters with natural attacks like the claw and bite will focus on one character. If it might attack multiple characters it would probably be mentioned in the monster's description. It is usually left to the GM's decision about how and who the monster attacks but just be consistent in that deci...

Re: Started building an online Character Creator for BFRPG

For now keeping it for first level characters is perfectly fine. If you were going to track it in a database there are few fields to deal with. AB Saves Thief skills Turn undead Spell slots Those are the ones that tend to change the most during leveling in a static manner. Hit points should be left ...
