Re: Weapon Type vs Armor Type
Crossbow advantages: longer range ,(about double), better penetration, More damage, can be carried "cocked", less training to use. Disadvantages: More expensive, (requires a workshop), more liable to moving parts failure, *much* lower rate of fire. (Long)bow advantages: cheaper (can be mad...

Re: GM Question: EXP Awarding
I gotta serious query that I can't find a satisfactory answer for. The forum search here ignores the term 'experience', by design, making it difficult to look up any info on the subject. I am wondering what the popular consensus is on assigning players experience points for non-violent, role-playin...

That gives me a *nasty* idea -- escaped circus animals, no fear of man, some knowledge of Man' s tools.

Re: Looking for additional information
*sighs "Ok, thanks. I guess I will have to wing it somewhat and take longer to build the game". Anything ship wise from any "D&D" will work easily. Except for the hardcover (2e?) That is purely sea-related. The names assigned to various ships are *completely* wrong. A drakka...

Re: Opinion
Many "Old School" games are meant to be played, not sell anything, and many players spend time with buddies, dice and adventures, making things up as they go, not on forums. The need for "supporting" material can often be small and thus you really won't see that much activity in...

Re: Advice on Workshop Ideas?
Just a question... Why is there this "we don't care" attitude against classes/rules? A game like this should live mostly with home made stuff... Ok, it's difficult to reach perfect balance, but I don't see the reason why we should not let people with ideas to put their efforts in download...

Re: Just a Feedback: Get the books!
Hey, I just want to point something out... don't buy the books to "reward" me. I make almost nothing on sales (about as close to nothing as they will let me get) and what I do make still more than covers the modest costs of the site. Get the books because you want them, not because you fe...

Re: Hello again!
Write a very *rough* story outline. Look it over for points where the PCs can derail. Note "if-thens" for those points. Fill in major details. Leave *lots* of slack.

Re: Recharging items
Working on my phone after 3 hours of sleep warning!
I seem to recall something in the cost of spell research that apples to both manufacture and recharging of items.
