Re: I'm beginning to think writing isn't worth it

I totally suck at self-promotion and I mostly read stuff written by dead people.

I think you should have a wikipedia entry with your bibliography in it.
That's one free way to get people interested.

Re: Recharging items

In my campaign, staves recharge slowly at the rise of the new moon. That's slow enough of a recharge that the players don't waste charges. Wands are not rechargeable. I use a different twists on wands. Instead I give up rings of spell storing which are totally rechargeable by the party and everybody...

Re: Are half-elves infertile?

Now that's disgusting. I mean, how did that happen. You would have to be pretty desperate to get jiggy with an orc :D The game always had philters of love. There's also normal intoxication and rape is a byproduct of wars. In many settings, half-elves are just as shunned as half-orcs. In others, hum...

Re: Are half-elves infertile?

Orcs mate with everything except elves. However the Orc strain is dominant so the offsprings are basically orcs 90% of the time. The most commons are orc-goblin, orc-hobgoblin, orc-human and orc-ogre. In Greyhawk, Losels were orc-baboon.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide Volume 2

The armorer still lacks clarity. You'd think it would simply be a certain type of cursed armor found as is but it's clearly not that. It's actually a type of doppleganger that duplicates only armor. It seems it lurks around while carrying a corpse until if finds a new host wearing some sort of armor...

Re: Tengu/Covidians - A Kenku Conversion

I'm not sure Buddhists want their scrolls referenced in games.

I don't provide source for mythology and folklore.
Just when copying verbatim from a source.
Like if I wanted to put a line from Lovecraft in my Nightgaunt description.

The exact rules should be in the license.

Re: Using Spells as Treasure

Well, there's always magic research.
If you find a spell on a scroll--which you can't learn--you know enough about it to research it.
Carrying tapestries and stone columns is too much of a drag.

Re: Using Spells as Treasure

Scrolls are a common treasure. Magic books are less common. When the enemy is a Magic User, I put his spell books in a secure place somewhere. I mostly get Magic Users to pay instructors in exchange for teaching them spells. In my campaign some local lords allow a college of magic to operate on thei...
