Re: Great Way Adepts
So I have to inquire, has anyone ever played a GWA in a game of Basic Fantasy and gotten them anywhere near level 20? Or been in a game where someone lived long enough to get that high level? And by "get that high level" I mean naturally, not just "okay we'll start you guys off at level for this On...

Re: Great Way Adepts
The secret is, if they can't dodge an attack they'll lose their special AC ;) I would go with progressions like these ones: GWA.png I don't like to assume that fighters will have magic items with AC bonuses so I don't consider them while comparing armors. Dimirag, I think your suggestion makes GWAs...

Hi Metroknight,
Don't worry, no offence taken. I was simply providing some insight on the whys and wherefores of the GWA.

Re: Just a thought that hit me about martial art classes
Well the GWA was never intended to be a realistic/believable martial artist class. If that's what you want the suggestions you make are the sensible way to go. The Adept is the kind of over-the-top wuxia/Wire Fu martial artist. If you want to play "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" the GWA is for you,...

Re: Great Way Adepts
The AC: currently he has a better AC than a fighter in chain mail with a lower dex bonus! That was the idea actually. Think that a GWA will never get bonus to AC due to magic items, and can't simply buy plate and shield as fighters and clerics do. Likely has lower HP than Fighters and Clerics at co...

Re: Barbarians Supplement
I'm not sure about this one artikid. Now the ability doesn't improve barbarian's survivability in standard combat if you use by-the-book dying rules or a minus HP rule variant. Gah, you are right. I'll go with the 1d10 HD. I wonder if I should leave the "Always get a save" thing too. Anyway I'm att...

But you forgot to remove the part about the read languages ability.
The new file you'll find attached is correct now, I tweaked AC even more.
I'll wait to see if there's more feedback before sending this to Solomoriah.
Cheers
EDIT: another change to AC progression
