Re: A Comment on the "Companion" Question
Hello, sorry for being late to the party. Once I added my voice to those asking for an "Advanced Fantasy". Over the years I've changed my mind, BFRPG has a very precise identity: one that is at the same time modular and well defined. I think that crystallizing BFRPG in AFRPG (or compiling its Uneart...

Re: Bard Supplement
Nice, I like it.
I'd use the Thief's progression for XP, attacks and saves.
I'd limit the Bard to all weapons, no shield and up to chain mail armor.

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
buongiorno, this is clear now, I believe then that the relative low cost of 50 gp is compensated by this 7 days offset, the final cost is comparable to other magic objects. Looks good to me as is, grazie mille ;) BTW, you have VERY nice artworks on your site, congrat sir ! Grazie Elwing! BTW I thin...

Hello, I wrote those rules.
The right cost would be 1500 GP.

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
Just as an experiment, here is a couple of versions taken from Dimirag's suggestions: Take one: Negative levels Cure disease cures all diseases that the subject is suffering from. The spell also kills parasites afflicting the target creature. Certain special diseases may not be countered by this spe...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
PS There are two main reasons why I'd rather avoid Negative Levels. 1 They are used, generally, to portray a very specific thing in the game. 2. While simpler to handle at the moment (here, take 1 Negative level), I think they are a hassle to handle in the long run, especially if affecting the playe...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
But, on the original proposition its not similar, its worst, the victim suffers from similar penalties but can't be avoided (no ST allowed), can't use any spell (instead of just one of his higher level ones), plus can's recover HP and, unless he stays out of activity, suffers damage. Using Energy D...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
I think in AD&D it was a 7th level spell, it drained one level only with no save.Solomoriah wrote:Energy Drain as a spell is a higher level effect, is it not?

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
How about making it generate Energy Drain on the victim for 1 level per day for a number of days equal to the caster level with a Spell ST modified by CON to prevent the Energy Loss for that day? May 2nd option: If caster level is greater than victim's HD/Level by 4 he inflicts a lethal disease (ST...
