Re: Basic Science-Fantasy Roleplaying?

This is the paradox of science fiction games... the most compelling worlds are those based on popular media, but if you play in one of those games, you'll never be the hero. You don't usually play a Star Wars game as Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, or Leia Organa. You don't get to be Captain Kirk, or Cap...

Re: Basic Science-Fantasy Roleplaying?

I certainly wouldn't mind a sci-fi spin to BFRPG but it would require a specific goal in mind and well-thought out ideas for things like what armors, weapons and monsters to include. What would the base races and classes be? Things like that. My vote would be human, gray alien, four-armed green alie...

Re: Determining Monster Threat

As Dimirag says, it's more an art and, if the party is being overwhelmed then they should learn that not every encounter should be a combat one. These orcs might not like those hobgoblins so maybe you strike up a rapport with them and get the two to fight each other giving the party ample time to lo...

Re: DM decision help

For my games I actually switched to a silver based economy, not gold, but that's just me. As for cost of resurrection, I usually tie it into a thing where a gem must be crushed and doused in holy water. Which faith is doing the resurrection will determine the gem but they also get some nifty boons f...

Re: Help finishing up an adventure

It could be a ghost, some kind of a demon, or other malevolent spirit. I would say stat the enemy up yourself since you would be able to build the thing to better face the capabilities of the party.

Re: Some assistance on creating a PC race and/or class...

Shroomkin I would personally avoid anything that can boost AC or the spores myself. I do like the sustenance ability you described but I'm not sure about Darkvision since that seems to be one everyone goes to to make their races "unique". And I would just give them a +2 Save vs Poison. As for anythi...

Re: Anyone Made BF1 Players' Maps?

Maybe there is no additional gate because the town ran out of funds to complete it? A good way to endear the party to Baronet Halden Rathwynn is to provide the funds to build the interior gate?
