Re: Spells Question

For the Spell levels it is:
1 x Level 1 Spell
1 x Level 1 Spell
1 x Level 2 Spell

So you end up with 4 if you add up the spell levels. I think that was one of the questions but sometimes I misread things :D

Re: A first play test

I think something like that could be really interesting. I'm waiting for my next session to see what happens to the party. As it stands we have the potential for them all to go down and become Kobold dinner. On the up side I'll let them create new characters and the kit and money from their first ch...

Re: A first play test

I'm curious about what tests people make the players do to stem the flow of blood etc.. I was thinking of an int check to see if they can work out what they need to do and a Dex check to make sure they don't bodge it. Do others use tests for this or just assume the adventurers have seen enough actio...

Re: A first play test

I agree totally with the just dropping unconscious, I would play it depending on the situation. I do a similar thing when the players are fighting. So for example if one player swings and misses but the next lands a really solid hit I describe it as the NOC dodging out of the way of one blow only to...

Re: A first play test

Funny you should mention that! Before play began we discussed character death becaus eI wanted to know the rules we were all working to. What we went for was any hit that takes you to 0 or less wounds puts you at 0. After that every turn you receive -1 HP as you bleed out, suffer the effects of pois...

Re: A first play test

I would like to avoid the tpk if we can but I've said everything apart from secret rolls I'm going to do in the open. So the number of monsters the damage they do etc. Is all going to be rolled in the open to avoid any temptation on my part to fudge :)

A first Play Test Part II

I have done a followup to the first blog post on my first play test. This one goes into more detail on the character creation. Partly I did that as the game has had to slip back a week due to players commitments, and partly because there seemed to be good feedback and interest on here in the method ...

Re: A first play test

I may have a try with that one. I'm worried my players may get a tpk!

I have had to defer the next installment to next week due to a players previous commitments . I may do more detail on my char creation and why I picked what I did and how great the BFRPG rules are.

Re: How many boulders should giants hold/have available?

I've never had that problem but off the top of my head I would run it something like this. I'd start with where they are. So have they come across them in some lair or trap in which case they may have a stockpile. If that isn't a go-er then I would look at what the current scenery etc. is like, coul...

Re: Roll20 Orr Report for Basic Fantasy RPG

I have to say that's pretty impressive. What is also interesting is the number of systems that are D&D versions or variants. I have to say I'm also quite happy to see Cthulu up there ... that would be quite freaky playing online, all the lights off ... Anyways I think BFRPG is doing really well. As ...
