Re: JN1 The Chaotic Caves

It is almost never necessary, nor a good idea, to press ENTER in LibreOffice to push something to the next page. There are formatting tools for that. If the document is coming to me for layout (which is usually the case, as with this module), leave formatting anomalies alone and I'll fix them. Huh?...

Re: JN1 The Chaotic Caves

Tentative r21 uploaded here. "Page 11: Exploring the Wilderness This section gives basic rules for exploring the area around the caves and the village, but it does so in a contradictory and potentially confusing way." Nothing is a rule in any module. The idea behind the funky movement rates is a he...

Re: JN1 The Chaotic Caves

Started work on r21. There are a number of spaces in front of commas you might look at with a global replace. Such as page 12 or so the special table: 12 1d4 Wolves: AC 13, HD 2 , #At 1 bite , Dam 1d6 , Mv 60' , Sv F2, Ml 8 Plus some double spaces in the text here and there. Some format tables, the...

Re: Has anyone seen these?

Before anyone is turned off by these sorts of threads: My observation (maybe too narrow, who knows) is that Basic Fantasy and similar games are more for the players and not the commercial end of the hobby. Commercial types who really want to make money chase the latest and greatest games where the s...

Re: Has anyone seen these?

Someone did ask permission via email to use Chaotic Caves although the OGL did not require doing so. This sounds familiar and I think I got a complimentary copy of the initial version but it has been long ago. Which is why it and my other contributions they were OGL projects - to help the hobby, not...

Re: Style guide

" FIf you need a copy of the mentioned fonts, please PM or email Solomoriah and/or chiisu81 and we'll help you out!" Any guidance on referring to new monsters, magic items, etc. within the text? Or a field guide or other existing resource? i.e. "Within the stone hollow underneath the fifth chair is ...

Re: Let me tell you about my day...

Hopefully no long term hidden health issues.

It frightens me to think of the number of people are going drive with no care in the world because the "...collision avoidance system will keep them and everyone else safe...." It's not the good drivers one has to look out for...

Re: Opinion

Many "Old School" games are meant to be played, not sell anything, and many players spend time with buddies, dice and adventures, making things up as they go, not on forums. The need for "supporting" material can often be small and thus you really won't see that much activity in the "support" arena....
