I wish word processors would auto correct or give those hint-squigglies for that.
I am one of those who grew up in the typewriter age where double space was the right way. I do it often just automatically by habit. Hard to break.

Re: Advertising BFRPG?
Love it. Just put a line break after the word "print." so that the next sentence appears in its entirety on next line.

Re: Best/assumed number of PCs for the adventures?
Long ago (like 70s/80s), the expectation for those low level adventures/modules was 6-8 characters of levels 1-3, and I think that is a good expectation. You can boil that down a bit, 8 characters if everyone is mostly level 1. 6 characters if everyone is mostly level 3. Remember this is also depend...

Re: Standard list of languages
For me, Language is a setting or campaign specific aspect. Additionally, it need not be any more complex than a GM wants. While I have played in groups that compartmentalize languages into distinct sets including multiple languages for each race (based upon region/nations), I have even played in a g...

Re: More complex Language rules
I like having extra languages in use for various regions/peoples. That said, I have never thought to codify such learning as you have here. Seems overly tedious to me. I have always been like "you have a language slot, so during your downtime between stuff... you pick up the new language"....

Re: Player Hit Dice
I believe the idea of a cap was meant to "help" represent the upper limit of character innate durability. A high level fighter may be tough (HP wise), but should still be lesser than lets say an older Dragon. Hence, Dragons or other such mighty monsters continue to accumulate HD. Of course...

Re: Is Weapon Specilization good enough?
Several different "Rangers" are available as core/sub-classes, as well as a Quasi-Class variant Ranger and an Archer Quasi-class. Each can be quite different. I would suggest taking a hard look at each variant to figure out which one fits best for your concept (or perhaps your player's con...

Re: Illusionist sub-class question
The Illusionist has a special list where there are distinct spells just for them, and likewise they lose access to certain spells that traditional MU have. Additionally, like asked earlier, the Illusionist is generally better than an equivalent MU at any sort of illusionary expression. The spell lis...

Re: Good monster book to use if using gold as xp
I don't give XP for gold, however I do allow players to spend gold on training at a 1:1 ratio. This allows draining of excess money out of the game. I let this occur during any downtime around city/town/etc. Giving XP based upon gold acquired seemed absurd to me, even back in the day. Same with givi...

It has been a while since I thought about these entries. I don't exactly expect that I had all details thoroughly thought out. I think your observations are valid, and I would have no quarrel with tweaks along what you suggest.
