Re: Probably been asked before about basic scifi rpg

Personally I love SWN, and I would love to see a Basic Sci-Fi RPG, but as Solo said, there aren’t really any default sci-fi settings. In fantasy it’s pretty easy to modify the default by removing things (yes things get added and changed, but people are more likely to accept elves, dwarves, hobbits, ...

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Should the Quizmaster really attack after 1d4-1 rounds? What if a 1 is rolled? They just ask the question and immediately start blowing people’s minds out? :|

Re: Heist

I have never run a heist, but I have played in a heist... as a criminal, so I can't help you with the staying out of trouble thing, but the above suggestions sound good. As Sean said, the key to a heist is stealth. However I will say that it doesn't have to be acrobatic sneaking through the shadows....

Thanks guys! My main influence for this art style was actually the Darkest Dungeon videogame (though i think they were in turn influenced by Mike Mignola's Hellboy).
I was actually about to ask if you did any art for the game. The resemblance is uncanny, but original!

Re: Reaction Rolls

I don't use them much if I already have the NPC written down. If the party starts talking to passersby, or the nameless bartender/guard/shopkeep, they get a roll on first contact, usually with a +1 modified by CHA and reputation, just so no one immediately pulls a knife or anything just because some...

Re: PCMatic / MapMatic +2 Help

Is there a way to use MapMatic without an internet connection? I vaguely remember reading somewhere that you can install MapMatic or MapMatic +1, but I could be imagining things.

Re: Sword & Sorcery-ish BFRPG adventures?

As Chi said many adventures in AA1 and AA2 can be used. The Vault of Thaire is explicitly S&S and one of my favorites. Death Crypt of Khaldun can easily be done with a little modification, and Island in the River is sort of whatever you want to make it from the beginning, all from AA1. I'm not as fa...

Re: Rear attacks and Facing?

First: Remember that the rules of this game are not supposed to be comprehensive. There may be gaps, or wordings that do not make sense, or don't cover the situation. As with the situations that are covered in the rules, the GM is encouraged to do what makes the most sense to them, and their players...

Re: Experience points

If I want them to level quickly, then I don't divide the combat xp. and even then it's still pretty slow. I also converted to a silver economy, and give 1 xp per 1 sp. You can still use this with a gold economy if you want them to level faster. be careful of the ratio 1 xp = 1 gp means they will be ...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition

Divide the normal overland travel rate by 3, and add it again to the normal overland travel rate.
1+1/3 = 4/3
It means that they should travel faster on a road, than they would through an open field.
