For anyone curious in the math behind the d6 mechanic the formula for success percentage is: 1-(5/6)^(?d6) (that is 5/6 raised to the power of the number of dice.) Its actually easier roll the dice and look for a six than it is to calculate the odds... :D EDIT: I've actually started calling this mec...

I ran a game using it about a year ago. I had one player comment that it was nearly as good as being at the same table. Since then, they have added so much to make it even better. And it has an active modding community constantly uploading content (a lot like this site :D ) I'm not gonna lie, there ...

I've had success using the "Target20 roll" (1d20+ability+level >= 20 is success; a 1 always fails) although this makes success chances level dependent so it won't be right for everyone... My apology for any offense, Solo; t'was poor choice of wording on my part... The rule isn't what is 'bad'; what's 'bad' are the arguments it creates at my table, and in the case of this original post, players 'working the system'... so we houserule it away. This system remains my 'rule set of choice...

thanks for all the replies. To tho's who have no issue with simultaneous movement and action, I'm happy for you. I didn't want to imply that simultaneous init was 'confusing', i guess its just less orderly than the normal 'you go, then he goes, then i go.... To tho's who don't understand my problem ...
