Re: Gauntlets of Ogre Power + Girdle of Giant Strength

... I suspect something got lost in the translation from the 3rd Ed. SRD that I'm supposing BFRP is based on. Incorrect, my friend. Nothing was "lost in translation." BFRPG is based on the 3.5E SRD as a legal thing, not as a content thing; the content is meant to mirror the era of the early 1980's....

Re: Gauntlets of Ogre Power + Girdle of Giant Strength

Another reason why I would point them as stacking is that I've always regarded the original game meant these, along with the Hammer of Thunderbolts, as an homage to Thor's belt, gauntlet and weapon. From Wikipedia: Norse mythology, Járngreipr (Old Norse "iron grippers") or Járnglófar ("iron gauntlet...

Re: Gauntlets of Ogre Power + Girdle of Giant Strength

In the Basic version of the original rules the two items *did* stack but not in the manner you state. The Girdle gave you the same attack bonus to hit as a Hill Giant and your weapon did double it's rolled damage. The +3 bonus to hit and damage from the 18 Strength you had from the Gauntlets of Ogre...

Book of Marvelous Magic?

Hi Solo, Thought I would write a quick note and thank you to everybody who helped in writing the Field Guide monster book . I finally remembered to add it to an Amazon purchase and I have to say for $5 this is one of the best rpg values I ever received for my money. First was getting the Core Rules ...

Iron Falcon form fillable character sheet

Hey bro's here is a form-fillable pdf of an Iron Falcon character sheet I made that you can use! I pulled the last one as it needed more work but forgot to put it back up. Oh, there is an attack bonus icon on there as I use ascending AC. If you want to use ascending AC just subtract AC from 20 like ...

Weekend play report

Hey-ho! Apologies for the length, I haven't dungeon mastered a regular campaign in decades so I thought I'd be thorough as I could as I would like feedback on ideas for followup. I have been interspersing small one page dungeon (OPD's) and Dungeon Crawl Classics adventures in with the 1st Edition U1...

Home print?

Question for Sol: I have a hardcover copy of IF, which is by far my favorite osr clone. I would like to take the player's section of the first 48 pages or so and set it to booklet size for a coilbound printout at the local copy store. This would be for player's use at the table. I think the font is ...

Re: Digest formatting for Lulu?

Would love to get my greedy little paws on the Core rules in digest but just the 50 some odd page's that makes up the player's section so I could hand that out by itself for player use at the table.
