Dopplegangers
It's not stated in the core rules, so I'll ask the group how you all rule with Dopplegangers. Obviously, they're able to duplicate the physical appearance of their intended victim(s), but does this also include the voice ? I don't believe the ESP ability does anything beyond permitting the creature ...

Saving Throws
Just need a little clarification regarding saving throws for demi-Humans. Are they cumulative ?
An example : If someone plays a Dwarf with a CON of 18, does that character gain a +7 on saves versus Poison (+4 for being a Dwarf AND +3 for the CON bonus ?)

"Raise Dead" Spell question
Regarding the "Raise Dead" spell, the core rules state, "A raised creature has a number of hit points equal to its current hit dice." I interpret this to mean that, if a 4th-level character is raised by virtue of this spell, he or she will be raised with just 3 hit points (having...

Fireball Spell Question
Hello, all. Forgive me if this question seems stupid or if it has been answered elsewhere. In the description of the Fireball spell, the core rules state “if the caster attempts to send the bead through a narrow passage, such as through an arrow slit, he or she must roll a missile attack (without ra...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition
This is probably going to come off as a bit nit-picky, but I’d like to offer the following as a potential edit to Page 11 in the core book. Under Weapons, the silver long/short bow arrow, silver light/heavy quarrel, and silver dagger are all asterisked with the following notation : “Silver tip or bl...

Is the Dragon Turtle the toughest monster in BFRPG ?
Greetings, all. I was perusing the core rulebook the other day in search of some tough monsters with which to challenge some high-level characters, and I couldn't find anything more deadly than the Dragon Turtle : * Max of 45 Hit Dice * Max of +16 Attack Bonus * 3 attacks (Claw/Claw/Bite) of max 3d1...

Continual Light spell questions
Hey, everyone. A couple questions regarding the Continual Light spell : 1. Is the 1 year/level duration fixed, or is the caster able to end the effect at any time prior to that by voluntarily terminating the spell ? The spell description doesn’t specify. 2. When the spell is used in an attempt to bl...

Hit Points beyond 9th Level
Hello, fellow BFRPG aficionados. There's something that's always bothered me, ever since I played 1st and 2nd Ed AD&D back in the day, and I've noticed it's a part of Basic Fantasy, as well (no doubt in keeping with the idea of sticking to the precepts of the older games). I was wondering why (a...
