Re: How to make a pine knot torch

Check this out. I always kind of took torches for granted as the de facto light source for the medieval world, fantasy and historical. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jiuHr5YVJBI After watching this, I realized just how often some authors- J.R.R. Martin jumps out as one of the worst offenders- have c...

To Alignment, or Not to Alignment

OK, so I realize that BFRPG doesn't use an alignment system, and I think I understand why. Alignment is more about behavior- what a character says and does, day in and day out- than it is a reflection of a title picked from a list. If a character that claims to be Lawful Good lies, steals, and hurts...

Re: BFRPG Character Sheet by James D. Jarvis

Very, very nice. Minor nitpick: Missiles is misspelled as "Missles".

Re: BPRG PbP Recruitment

Understood, Joe. It's just as well since the last slot was filled today. I don't think that I could handle a group larger than 8, ATM. I'll keep y'all posted on how the game goes and I know where to ask if I have any questions about the system. If a slot opens up, this will be the first place I'll l...

Re: BPRG PbP Recruitment

That's unfortunate, being as I'd really like you guys to come and play. I kind of get it. When I registered for this forum, it slightly complicated my daily browsing routine as well. It makes sense to concentrate all things BFRPG here, and if the forum had a couple more PbP-friendly features, I just...

Re: BPRG PbP Recruitment

@Dymondy: Check out the game site and see if it looks like something you'd like to be a part of. I'm still looking for 2-3 more players. @Smoot: I understand about the site preference thing. I'm pretty set in my ways too. RPOL was where I played my first PBP like eight or nine years ago, so that's ...

Re: A Rather Critical Review of Morgansfort

I think that it would be a good idea all around to remove mention of skin tone in future editions of Morgansfort. Mention the different geographical and class origins of important NPCs and then let the GM assign physical characteristics however he or she sees fit. As for the prego Orc women... I gue...

Re: A Rather Critical Review of Morgansfort

There's nothing in the module instructing the GM not to allow the PCs to attempt some sort of diplomatic solution (for example, forming an alliance with the orcs versus the wizard), is there? Is it a recommended requirement to slaughter the orc women and children? It's not a stated success criteria ...
