Re: Simultaneous Turns
It does require trust between the players and DM. I am still new to Basic Fantasy, having moved over from Labyrinth Lord, so forgive me for falling back to that game for examples, I just don't know the Basic Fantasy book well enough yet. Download (for free) and take a look at the Labyrinth Lord book...

Re: Monster cards
That is how Basic D&D (and Labyrinth Lord) handled combat rolls. Each class (and monsters) have a table that requires looking up to see what roll is needed to hit what AC.I suppose you could say this is a more "historically accurate" way of doing combat. Thac0 grew out of this. To use ...

Re: Keeping track of time
The time tracker works fine, I just found that I didn't need so much space just for tracking time so I am adding a spot for tracking marching order, spell durations, a spot for 1 or 2 wandering monster tables and I made it portrait instead of landscape. I am open to suggestions if you have any. My g...

Yes sir Hywaywolf.
When I first hit up the download page to grab a copy of Basic Fantasy I couldn't believe how much extra material there was available. And it's good material too.
I've been so tempted to print it all out I've been having a tough time restraining myself

Re: Starting Basic Fantasy Tomorrow!
Whether or not Charisma is a dump stat, or how "dumpy" it is, depends, here is why: The reaction modifier portion of Charisma is always* useful (*As useful as your DM chooses to make it that is). How big is your game group, how many players will there be? What game system are you switching...

Another newbie says hi
Hey all, not new to RPG's but new to Basic Fantasy and these here boards. For awhile I have been looking to break the hold 3.5, Pathfinder, and 4th ed have had on my gaming group and get back to my gaming roots. Having downloaded and read the Labyrinth Lord rules I was chomping at the bit for an opp...

Re: Keeping track of time
Hi Blazeguard, I recently had trouble keeping track of time as well. As Solomoriah suggests, I keep track of time in my head when my group is not in "adventure" mode, ie. not in a dungeon or on some time critical task. When the party is in a dungeon and I want to keep track of time for lig...
