It's right out of English folklore...

In any case, question answered. Thanks!

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide

Just curious why my banshee didn't get added in. It is such an obvious monster that is not in the main rules.

Other than that, a couple typos here and there, but overall, it's a great book.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide

How about just putting up an updated version without art, so we can use the monsters? No point in having them if no one can see them.

Re: Polearm vs Two-Handed Sword

In reality, polearms were far more commonly used than two-handed swords.

Ghostshot (BFRPG magical artifact)

I figured BFRPG could use some artifacts. Here's one I came up with. It has the added bonus of introducing one firearm into a campaign, without having them everywhere. http://www.hill-interiors.com/images/large/G1013G.jpg Ghostshot Ghostshot is a magical flintlock pistol, from a long-gone era. It is...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition

As-is, low level thieves have a less than 1 in 6 chance of actually doing a thief skill (outside climbing). That's my only real issue with them. If starting thieves had something like 30% in every skill, which increased slowly, I'd be very happy with them. I also think thief skills could be split. H...

Re: Basic Fantasy RPG Core Rules 3rd Edition

One change I'd like to see is that Thief skills start at a higher percentage at level one. Right now, thieves are pretty much useless until 4th level or so, unless they get really, really lucky with their rolls.

Re: Monsters I've made

Do what ya gotta do. :)

Also, why not have more than one version for a monster? It will give everyone more options.
