Re: Combat with Floor Plans
Release 7 reintroduces the 5'/10'/5' (or 1 square / 2 squares / 1 square) rules for diagonal movement. From comments earlier in this topic, this seems to be peoples' preferred approach. I've also done a fair amount of further tidying-up of the layout following the migration from MS Office to LibreOf...

Re: Combat with Floor Plans
Yep, if you read back through this topic, the diagonal movement rules seem to be the most controversial aspect of this supplement. In the original release, they did work in exactly the way you describe. I subsequently changed them following play-testing in my own game for the simpler approach. I don...

Re: Combat with Floor Plans
I've just uploaded a new version that corrects the section on "Attacks from Behind" (thanks pawibus!) and tidies up the copyright dates (thanks chiisu81!). The inability to search the PDF seems to be related to the fonts, possibly in combination with my ageing copy of Word. Just now, prior...

Re: Combat with Floor Plans
Joe, nice to still see you around 8-) Couple nitpicks for your copyright dates: For your copyright date (both on the upper right of the first page and the bottom of the OGL page), it should read "2012-2013, 2015, 2018" (going by your changelog dates) On the OGL page, update the BFRPG date...

Re: Combat with Floor Plans
That said, I do have one question: on page 9, in "Attacks from Behind", if Derval moved to the square directly "north" of the Goblin or Dunbar moved to the square directly "east" of the Goblin, wouldn't that make it possible for one of them to make an attack from behin...

Re: Combat with Floor Plans
Thanks for the feedback. Earlier in this topic, when I first started developing the supplement, there was quite a lot of discussion surrounding moving and turning within combat. What the supplement attempts to do is to retain the flexibility and dynamism of Old School combat within the confines of a...

Release 3
Release 3 of Combat with Floor Plans has been uploaded to The Showcase. The main driver for this latest release was to bring the supplement into line with the 3rd Edition of the Core Rules (with respect to page number references and monster lists). However, I also took the opportunity to update the ...

Re: RPG Primer and Old School Playbook
I'd forgotten I had this ... from 1982, " Dicing with Dragons - An Introduction to Role-Playing Games " by Ian "Fighting Fantasy" Livingstone. " This is the indispensable handbook for a new worldwide craze " Well worth a read if you can track down a copy on ebay (althou...
