Rowboats and small keelboats in Equipment Emporium

Currently running a river-based campaign and characters are looking at purchasing a boat for daily use. I have a question or two regarding entries in the Water Transportation table in the Equipment Emporium (same values for 3rd and 4th edition so that shouldn't matter). The Rowboat is listed with a ...

Re: Share your GM kit

a laptop and a bag with 44 years worth of dice (I think it's about 200) thats both the essentials and the luxuries Yeah, surface pro with portable 2nd screen and a lot of dice. While I can understand the argument that such may be distracting, using PDFs on a screen is more portable and more easily ...

Re: Permanently Spending Gold for XP

I give XP at the end of every session if possible and do include XP for coins found but not other treasures until the party has sold it off (generally at 1/2 value). Personally not a big fan of gp to XP, but I don't give out a ton of wealth so far and if I just did monster XP it would take forever t...

Re: Morgansfort and the Chaotic caves

Yes, using both. I am using Small Niche Game's Duchy of Valnwall so renamed Morgansfort Bracken Keep but otherwise, everything is the same as far as the keep and dungeons in that module. I am using the town from Chaotic Caves as well as the caves and other encounters though I revamped the regional m...

Re: Playing a Werewolf

I know this is an old thread, but doing research for my next game supplement and want to focus on therianthropes for a big section. PC4 Night Howlers by the original TSR has a lot of good chunkiness for running PCs as were beasts but breaks it down into 2 characters, the human character and the beas...

Re: Revise homepage

Looks like someone is working on it as a lot of the pages have the newest 4th edition revision. Blog and Forums may be a different system as they are 107 and Showcase is even older - 104.

Maps/Mapping digitally with In Person gaming

While I have played in a few virtual tabletop games over the last couple of years, I prefer playing in person but I am musing of late about using a portable monitor at the table to display maps to players just to make it a little easier and spending less time with player mapping. Plus I do make a fe...

Re: A Manifesto of Sorts, which is a Plan as well

I keep explaining this, but people aren't seeing the problem. So here's an analogy: You've been hanging with this guy for a long time, twenty plus years. You aren't really sure if you like him or not, but sometimes he buys the beer so you put up with him. Then one day you hear him muttering in anot...

Re: The new OGL and BFRPG

My understanding of the relevant bits of the rather large OGL 1.1 is that even if you publish before the 13th or whenever, they may still be able to make you take it down. If WoTC demanded everyone that published under 1.0a take their stuff down, that would decimate a HUGE chunk of product on Drive...

Re: The new OGL and BFRPG

Yeah, this whole topic is infuriating because I am currently working on an OSR project and wondering if I need to try and get it out there before the 13th. Also wondering if I even need to include the OGL. I am not (quasi-)copying sections or text, but I referr to spell names so wondering if that wo...
