Re: Session Two Tomorrow.
The current group includes 2 couples and a child, and old middle-school friend and his son, along with my wife and son. 8 PCS, would have been 9 but one of the players just got a new job in a state away. Wow! Sounds like a... party. It's great when you can get that much energy into a room. Ha...

Session Two Tomorrow.
Session two of my new campaign tomorrow. I'm a die-hard house-ruler myself and find the framework and strong foundation BFRPG provides to be excellent. The current group includes 2 couples and a child, and old middle-school friend and his son, along with my wife and son. 9 PCS, would have been 10 bu...

Re: It happened: OGL 1.0a remains untouched!
Yes. I would prefer BFRPG be sqeaky clean... free and clear from their whims. As if a game is not viable or complete without an Rust Monster or Owlbear entry!?! Rust Maggot, and Pounce Bears would fit my needs. https://2.bp.blogspot.com/-QAN9YCzJOa0/TqSgADJrfMI/AAAAAAAAAXw/ViK4R3ALnuU/s1600/rustmag...

The release of the 5.1 SRD under Creative Commons 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0) is surprising...as it is much more permissive than any version of the OGL has ever been.

Nice to be back. Sent the consent statement (porbably sent it twice the autofill looked like it sent it to the wrong address at one point).

Re: The new OGL and BFRPG
No reason to not use CC. It works. The licensing issue isn't really that hard software developers manage pretty complicated licensing all the time. I had a program that before a recent revision of the licensing in the development software the licensing requirements were longer than my code.

Re: Which OSR/D&D versions play best with BFRPG?
I ran a successful campaign using BFRPG as the foundation of the rules using modules using OD&D, 1st and 2nd edtion D&D, D20, and a couple retroclones (Rappan-Athuak, Temple of Elemental Evil, Castle Greyhawk and Stonehell were included) Probably heaviest use of modules I ever did and the on...

Re: What range and how often can a Cleric use turn undead?
I rule range to be with undead in "the general vicinity" among a group of undead within 90' to 120 '. Once a check fails the cleric can't try again against that group of undead until they have visited an altar or had time to do their daily prayers again. Other groups of undead can still be...

Re: Race as Class
I've used "Kin" in my homebrews in recent years but my campaigns have also been set in worlds where there is a wider range of socio-economic-tribalism wrapped up in all that which I was uncomfortable with using the term "race" for as it had other connotations and wasn't strictly ...

Re: The new OGL and BFRPG
Solid and sensible. Don't need a company that doesn't care about the games we play having any impact on the games we play.
