Also, "special" monsters can be modified, or they can represent an unusual group of otherwise-ordinary monsters. Or monsters not usually found on random encounter tables. More notes... Wandering Monsters is meant to be a quick reference. I'm limiting descriptive text to basic attack and defense features; the book and page reference should be enough for the GM to fill in the blanks. This is the same theory we use in writing adventures.

Okay, so it's only four years later... just uploaded R10 to the first post, with Borgar's excellent maps finally incorporated.

I may get to run this again in the next couple of years, and that might be enough to get it finished...

That's the tricky question. The core rules don't have very many appropriate monsters. Before we do this, let's get a list of all the relevant monsters (with their source book and page) and then figure out how to distribute them.

I'd do it now but I'm on something else...

No, let's keep it to just what's in the Field Guides. I think the major selections are all there. You can also include other non-dinosaur extinct creatures in such a list (like Terror Birds).
