Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Ah... rather cool, actually. Not a pony fan, but I can appreciate that.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Ack. I was not aware of that.

So perhaps I can feel a little better about the Wood Elemental. But I still feel the Timber-Wolf works better as the manifestation of the rage of a forest under attack, more or less as you created it, just without the elemental entanglement.

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Okay, layout problems, and things I regret. Right now the main layout problem I've been fighting is the Dreadnought. In the current flow, its picture falls off the page to a new page... and it's an odd-page-to-even-page transition, meaning in print, you'll have to turn the page to see the picture. N...

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

Ack. Not tonight. The layout is giving me FITS, and I don't have enough patience left to hammer it out. ALSO... I don't like the Mountain Fairy's "Hardness 8" skin. Other monsters in BFRPG have stony skin (indeed, stone golems are stone all the way through) but do not receive this bonus; also, "dama...

Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 2

It appears the original author actually meant "Sphere Imprisoner" and not "Imprisoner Sphere" (for example) as the proper naming convention for these creatures, so I am not changing them. Some of the monster classifications have been reassigned consistent with your suggestions; I don't have a defini...

Re: Funding Question for the Community

I have commissioned the cover for the Handbook of Monsters; when that artwork becomes available, the swag will begin to flow. The artist is Al Cook, who did the cover of the IF rulebook; he's sent me rough sketches already which really have me excited!

Yes, go ahead, feel free! The copyright statement at the bottom grants you the rights to do this. Do note that, if you make changes, you need to run them by me first; also, you must reproduce at least the "Copyright 2007, 2014, 2017 Chris Gonnerman. Re: Basic Fantasy Field Guide 1

Yeah, that part could be better. IF I do another version (and I probably will), I'll rewrite that part.

Re: BF1 Morgansfort

That's two entries that somehow got mixed together. I will fix it when I get the chance to look at BF1 again, probably soon.

Re: Continual Light spell questions

Huh. Many cities in my world of Glain use that spell for street lighting; it's a good way for a low level wizard (or cleric) to make money. The fact that it IS dispellable is a factor in the constant demand for the spell... thieves prefer the cover of darkness, and a half-elf magic-user/thief in the...
