Cleric Domains and Specialist Magic Users

Are there optional rules for modifying clerical spells into domains and magic-user spells into abjuration, conjuration, summoning, etc? I am thinking of using Dragonlance 2ed or Forgotten Realms 2ed, both of which have the above rules in them. EDIT: I bought print editions of Strongholds of Sorcery,...

Re: Some Questions

Is there a reason why hobgoblins have 1hd in BFRP but 1+1hd in B/X?

Is it because they have 1hd in 3.5? I don't know as I don't have the book.

Re: Experience points

I never used to like giving out xp for gold pieces until I read that it gives the DM a lot of control over how fast or slow characters level up. Each 1 gp you hand out is 1 xp you hand out.

NPC Roster

Do you use a downloadable record sheet for your npcs? I've got an npc party to include but didn't want to go with a full character sheet.

Re: Kickstarter

Well, if it means maintaining the status quo concerning how BFRP is run/presented, that's me happy.

Re: Kickstarter

I dig the art and layout. But definitely appreciate you adding your thoughts and ideas to the community Falstaff! Chris is pretty savvy though, and has been around the OSR community before there was a community. I bet he's thought of trying to use a kickstarter or whatever before. He's defini...

Re: Kickstarter

My only complaint with BFRP is that it doesn't capture the old school feel that BX has. I know it says it cleaves toward 3.5 but for me, it's much closer to BX (and that's a positive). So.. to you, its close but not close enough? Yes. It doesn't quite capture that old school feel for me. I think th...
