BFRPG Combat Sequence vs B/X

Combat Sequence from D&D B/X: 1. Each side rolls for initiative (Id6). 2. Re: Morgansfort is a Meat Grinder, Good Introductory Modules?

cheimison, what rules do you use for PC death? The Negative Hit Points optional rule in the rulebook might help make dungeons more survivable.

Re: "Floating Orb Monster with One Big Eye and Lots of Small Eyes"

These monsters are in other OSR games, under various names. The Black Hack 2nd edition, for example, calls this monster a "Floating Occulus".

Any tips on running JN1 The Chaotic Caves?

I may be running The Chaotic Caves soon, for a group of 3 or 4 players. Does anyone here have any advice or recommendations on running this adventure?

Would it be a meatgrinder for 3 or 4 players? The PCs will start as Level 1 PCs. Should I allow NPCs to join the party, to make the party stronger?

Re: Skills?

I'm sure this question has come up a bunch in the past, but if I'm playing a class other than a thief, how do I hide or move silently or pick a lock? Basic Dungeons & Dragons did not have explicit rules for such things, and neither does BFRPG. But Basic D&D did present a 1 in 6 chance of success fo...

I'll be adding this to one of the options supplements (or making a new one) sometime soon, if no one finds an issue with this idea.
Did these healing option rules ever get added to a supplement?

Hi Jandolar. I would like to hear your group's reactions to the different game systems. Let us know how the Basic Fantasy game goes.

Best beginner Module/Dungeon/Adventure?

1) Out of the officially published Basic Fantasy products, which is the best starter adventure for new DMs and new players? 2) Out of the entire OSR scene in general, what are some of your favorite starting modules/dungeons/adventures? Even if they are just small one-shot dungeons, I'm interested in...

Is it ok to take a custom-made book cover like the ones posted in this thread, and submit it along with a pdf of the BFRPG rules to Lulu for printing for your own use?

Re: BF Campaign Hack

Nice. Keep up the good work. I would love to see a Basic Fantasy sandbox with the various modules all located on one map.
