Re: Origins game fair 2019
Isn't Origins mostly an industry convention? How much game playing goes on there?

Re: Healing Option
I just encourage the whole party, not just the cleric, to invest in other healing magic, like potions. I also allow the option from one of the newer editions of the other game where a cleric can hot swap out any spell she has prepared for a CLW spell in an emergency. Or they can hire a healer (low l...

Re: When a character dies
If the party isn't near a settlement where they could recruit a new PC, I'd either let the player temporarily (or for good if they want) take control of an NPC torchbearer or something, immediately starting them at 0xp in the class the player wants (if allowed by race), or have an upcoming random en...

Re: Expanded class progression tables
The cool part of having all the books available as open office files is, with a little work, you can reformat them however you want. If your result is really cool, submit it as a new DL.

Re: Western lands
In my (limited, I admit) experience, these "partial" settings are actually more useful than full global worlds. Although I use the D&D Mystara setting, I ignore the whole world maps and just use the campaign map from the Isle of Dread adventure. Then, if I want to use parts of Western ...

Re: What is the deal with the newest DnD????
When I hear newest "d&d" my first thought is to check the downloads here for a new release
I don't have any experience with 5e from Wizards, and only look at their new stuff for map tiles, minis and stuff like that if I'm in Books-A-Million.

Re: How do you level multi-class characters?
I think people overcomplicate this by using AD&D terms and ideas for it. In BFRPG you don't have two classes, you have 1 combo-class. In other words, you're not a 1/1 Fighter/Magic User, you're a level 1 Fighting Magic User. You add the XP requirements for both classes to get the requirement for...

I don't think any of your criticisms of Morgansfort are bad things. Cautious play leads to more survival.

Re: Basic Conversion
Just invert ACs and use BF descriptions of monsters and magic where you can. Don't be afraid to wing it on the rest. BF and rules lite games are much more forgiving that way.

Re: Question about BFRPG wilderness maps
My advice is keep it simple. Some of the modern (5e or Pathfinder or whatev) maps are pretty, but a basic black and white with easy to read grid or hexes is a lot nicer in play.
