BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
I just recommended it! It's a great idea for new GM's and Players coming from a video game background especially. I've taken your .odt and "re-skinned" a few of them to use in my Pregens folder.
"Hey would you like to play? I've got a fighter here, or maybe a cleric? Oh? An elf? Sure!"
Sometimes with new players, character creation is time consuming and confusing. Best to just hand them a 3rd Pregen sheet and have them write a name on it and hit the trail running!
So yes, I think it's a worthwhile effort. The Pregens can also double as NPCs when "re-skinned" as well.

Thanks Delver!!! I appreciate knowing that it is useful. I wrote it first for myself, for those exact same reasons.Delver wrote: I just recommended it! Just wish I had more time to put in some of the alternate classes (ranger, etc...). Maybe if some folks wanted to write some of those up themselves and post it, I could wrangle it into shape. I use a standard score package of 16, 14, 13, 12, 10, 8.
Any takers?

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
No promises, but I'll see if I can come up with 1 or 2 for you over the long weekend.
The problem with doing something really stupid to impress people is that they may just be impressed by how stupid you really are.

Thanks, we could make this a community project.
Just a text file, but in the same order as mine would be VERY helpful.

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
I'll see if I can come up with a couple, using the class supplements on the Downloads page.
1. Add the BFRPG URL at the beginning of your document
2. OGL statement at end:
a. In the Introduction change
The Carven: A Basic Fantasy Supplement (hereinafter “the Supplement”)
to
BASIC FANTASY THIRD LEVEL PREGENERATED CHARACTERS A Basic Fantasy RPG Play Aid
b. At the end of the statement, before the line
BASIC FANTASY THIRD LEVEL PREGENERATED CHARACTERS A Basic Fantasy RPG Play Aid. Copyright © 2015 John Fredericks
you need to add the line
The Carven: A Basic Fantasy Role-Playing Game Supplement Copyright © 2015 John Fredericks
c. You'll also need to add at the end, before the final line:
Fighter Subclasses: A Basic Fantasy Supplement Copyright © 2006 William
Smith
Quasi Classes: A Basic Fantasy Supplement Copyright © 2009 R. Kevin Smoot.
Rangers: A Basic Fantasy Supplement Copyright © 2010-2011 Jason Brentlinger.
Rangers and Paladins: A Basic Fantasy Supplement Copyright © 2011-2012 Chris Gonnerman and Wynter Sturtevant III
This is assuming you used the Rangers and Paladin Supplement on the Downloads page.

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
Chiisu,
Thanks for all the legal information, and I will definitely add that for the next revision.
Just post any new characters here in this forum, then I will clean up the formatting. Thanks in advance.

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
Made some major revisions to Third Level Pregens. Thanks to chiisu for the legal revisions.
I didn't split the document, but have it in two sections "Core Races/Classes" and "Optional Races/Classes." There's a paladin, Carven and Wanderwoods in the optional classes.

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
Still need to re-name file to start "BF" rather than "BFRGP"
Also, how do the thieves have 15HP; at 3rd level aren't they at 3d4HP?

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
Fixed the naming.
Thieves have 15 hp (12 from 3d4, plus the CONSTITUTION bonus). I give max hp to start, even if it is at a higher level.

Re: BFRPG Third Level Pregenerated Characters
You should add the rule you've used for their Attribute values.
How about XP? Do they start with their XP at 0 or at the minimum required for 3rd level?
Do they get max HP at each level from 1st to 3rd? That also would have to be explained on the file, as it reads it sounds like they get full HP only at first level.
Why only 3rd level?
