Trouble staying logged in

I am having trouble on this forum with being logged out when I close the browser, regardless of whether I tick the box to stay logged in or not. It worked up until a few days ago and I have no idea what has caused it to act up. I wondered If anyone else has had this problem and any suggestions to fix it.

I am running Firefox on Linux

No problems for me. I use multiple different configurations.

Google Chrome on Windows 10
Samsung Phone
Chromium on Linux Mint
others on occasion.

Under Preferences > Privacy, what is it set to under the History sub-section? That's where the settings to save cookies, etc. are.

Thank you for your help however it has mysteriously fixed itself now, in the same manner that is mysteriously stopped working at first. All is well that ends well I suppose.
