JDN Dungeon Geomorphs

Post by Solomoriah »

I've set up this thread for comments on J.D. Neal's "JDN Dungeon Geomorphs" set, available presently in the Showcase.

These are kinda neat but they seem less like geomorphs and more like... I don't know.

I agree with this. Most Geomorphs that I have seen are less developed, generally smaller, and square so that one can utilize them by turning the orientation. These are more like full-size maps, ready to use.

Back in the olden days, I had a small binder of about 40 pages of graph paper (rolled d20 + d-even(as rolled)/odd(+20) to determine page), each page had 8 individual hand-drawn Geomorphs (d8), and then I would roll d4 to determine orientation. I did have a few geomorph that were double and 4x normal size (so that they would still fit the system in use) so every now and then one would have to play around with making them fit around other already placed geomorphs.

If I remember correctly, I think I used 100' square geomorphs (ten 10ft squares on a side)... perhaps they were slightly bigger; not sure now. Sadly they are lost.
Is it really the end, not some crazy dream?

That is "what it is (or appears to be)", but I don't think it is a good name. Perhaps just "Mega-Dungeon Maps"?

It's called whatever JD thinks it should be called.

I agree with solo. I didn't intend to start a "how should it be called" discussion

likewise. but then again, perhaps JDN might consider alternate names based upon the collective input.
