I'm presently working my way through the Animals section, applying standard statblocks to the creatures found there. Some curiosities... chickens and rabbits with a full Hit Die? I've changed this to 1d2 hit points. Game fowl listed with a Morale of 1, which would mean they always fail... bumped to 3, which is still plenty low.

Slowly but surely, I'm getting it done...

... peacocks have 2 HD???

They weigh less than a cat, but are twice as tough as a goblin.

And guppies have 1 HD, while "large" pet fish get 2?

Then I get to the lizards... basically, the GM is instructed to make them half of the giant lizard stats. No way this is right... an iguana is probably about as tough as a cat, but other than that only the komodo dragon presents any kind of threat.

I'm sorry, I don't know where these stats came from, but I'm making a bunch of changes.

Indeed. None of the numbers really make sense; the emu is given a movement rate of 25', for example, whereas they actually can outrun humans by a little bit. Morale is pretty low also... emus (and even geese) are tougher characters than those stats give credit for.

When I get the next version uploaded, I'm going to want everyone to review the animals section closely.

I was a big part of finding content for this, though I don't remember much participation in the animal section. That said, I was mostly involved in the finding of topics, but not the transcribing, converting, or otherwise coming up with hard stats and putting the material together. Joe the Rat was doing the assembly portions of this project mostly by himself.

To be fair, I think the HD parts you were looking at actually meant 1 hp and not 1 HD, though you are right in that it isn't clearly detailed. The stats should have said, 1 HP, and not just the "1".

Would love to see this as an ‘official’ BFrpg product, complete with covers and artwork and a print option on lulu/amazon! What do the rest of y’all think? Should we push this product thru so it can see the light of day? Reviews/edits and calls for artwork!? I for one NEED this in an official format to add to my collection!!! (As well as the Glain Companion hehe)

GC may someday be in print, but never as an official product. EE could be official, though.

At a glance, it actually looks pretty good. I want to revise the introduction a bit, mainly to emphasize that the additional rules presented in the book are purely optional; also, I think the pre-calculated equipment lists should be moved, probably to right before the Game Master section. I feel like those lists should follow rather than precede the individual item lists.

If no one has any other suggestions, I'll work on that and get a new release out in a couple of weeks. I'm not sure how well proofread this book is... Chi, do you know?

And of course, we should post an art request. We at least need cover art.

Al's done quite a bit of work and proofing, so it should be in pretty good shape. I can give it a look-over pretty soon. Only other thing I'd suggest is after you move the equipment lists is to update the Table of Contents with references rather than fixed/static page numbers.
