See below for a CC-BY-SA-4.0 version with automatically resizing text

After GMing an introductory session using lined paper for sheets I thought I would spend some time creating a modern-looking character sheet. It also provided some good experience using Inkscape (for the SVG) and LibreOffice Writer (for the final fillable PDF). To give a little something back I'm posting them here.

I'm not certain to the licensing for these as I've re-created a number of graphical elements from the WotC official 5e sheets; I'll leave these as "unlicensed" until I can contact someone there.

Either version will look fine printed at A4/US Letter though the plain PDF should scale better should you want a banner-sized print. :) (More detail: to correct alignment issues in the text I exported "text as paths" for the fillable PDF; these paths are not perfect which can be seen at very high zoom levels, e.g. 1600%).

Any feedback gratefully received!

(These are A4 with UK spelling, Fritz and Soutane fonts)

Thank you :)

Can anyone who has downloaded the sheet test it to see how it works during play? The columns should work to make items easy to locate (abilities, combat, background), and keeping often-edited items at the extremities, but I'm not sure of the AB-AC ordering, or how it works for left-handed players.

I also need to update the Wisdom caption to 'Save vs. charm spells'...

Thank you for these. I may think about them for my next Convention game where some folks might be familiar with later edition character sheets.

Great work

OP updated with a fixed fillable PDF (no more misaligned text in e.g. AC) and slightly more specific statistics captions.

Roll on the weekend so I can get these play tested. :D

Having been unable to contact anyone at WoTC I've been through and re-created the artwork to be entirely original. While items are similar to the 5e sheets there are enough differences to remove any licensing concerns, and I can say this is my own work (plus anyone can check the source SVG).

I also found that MasterPDFEditor works brilliantly (and freely), so there's now a single PDF that works perfectly for print and screen, and now includes automatically resizing text in the fields.

I think I can just release this as CC-BY-SA-4.0, though I'm not sure the status of using Erik Wilson's Scribbled Dragon (though there's a copyright notice included on the sheet).

Let me know if anyone wants an Americanized version (US Letter, Armor) and I'll re-do the layout. Also, any feedback welcome. :)

I can grant permission to use the Scribbled Dragon, per my agreement with Erik, and I do in this case.
