CS1 Castle by the Sea
Here's the adventure I ran today at Gaming for Goodness' Sake. It's not quite polished enough to suit me, and if you read the introduction you'll see I have some plans for this one...

Solo,
Are you planning to use this in any publications? Would you like an illustration to go with it? (Just asking before I put time into it, but I will if you'd like).

Re: Castle by the Sea
I'd be thrilled to have an illustration.
It seems no one has read it yet, so let me deliver the punch line directly. The maps in Castle by the Sea fit on my battlemat. This makes them ideal for introductory games at conventions. For this reason, this will become a multimodule, where every adventure stocks the same 22 rooms... differently.
This version is undead-focused. The next will likely involved bandits holed up in the castle. I'm working on several ideas, at least one of which I plan to get done before May.

Re: Castle by the Sea
This reminds me of a ruined castle I wrote for one of my groups, except mine had three towers and was rather less populated by monsters, I might run this for them at some point as it will be more of a challenge. They got through mine quite quickly and despite my monsters greatest efforts, only lost one PC.

Re: Castle by the Sea
Let me see what I can do. Have some game prep to do before that, but hopefully I can get you something later in the week.

S'awright. It's not as if it's a rush or anything. Thanks!

Also, the map reminds me a little of The Haunted Keep from the Moldvay Basic set. A classic indeed.

Page 5, Ochre Jelly entry: missing XP value
Page 9, Giant Fly entry: missing XP value
I only noticed this after reading the other contest submissions. In the past for enemy entries we've only listed everything up through morale (MI), but with your original Castle by the Sea creation and the contest submissions, I'm seeing XP added on after morale. Was that a conscious decision/change, and do we need to update the others to add it?

Re: Castle by the Sea
It just kind of happened. If an adventure puts XP after Ml, it should be consistent; but we aren't going back willy-nilly and updating everything to be that way.

Solo,
Just checking that I sent you the art, right? I'm pretty sure I did, but, well, the mind goes with old age.
